Day #87 in A Year of Positivity

“Every day do something that will inch you closer to be a better tomorrow.” – Anonymous

Hi there! It’s a pleasure to see you here with me on Day #87 in A Year of Positivity! I don’t know who the author is for today’s quote, but I love this quote, so I wanted to share it, “Every day do something that will inch you closer to be a better tomorrow.”

This quote is really about grit. So, what is grit? Let’s dive into that for a moment. First, it’s a word that has a few different meanings when it’s used as a noun or a verb, though for today’s post, I’m only using one of its meanings. Grit, by definition, means strength of character, fortitude, courage and resolve.

The way I see it is, there’s more to grit than its basic definition. I also see it as a beautiful convergence of the mindset, passion, persistence, and willpower. It’s also when you are trying to be the best version of yourself when you’re feeling like you’re at your worst.

Life won’t get easier. In fact, it’ll get more difficult as time goes on. It’s a hard pill to swallow, I know, but it’s worth taking into consideration when you’re trying in the overall sense to improve the way you act, handle, and react to whatever life throws at you. It’s being able to rise up to the challenges in front of you and move through them with courage and confidence and grace.

I enjoy this quote a lot and, interestingly enough, I’m actually already applying it daily to various aspects of my life. Every day I devote 20 minutes to an hour for personal self-growth and improvement, and if I have the time, I’ll sneak in a few extra minutes. For me, my personal growth areas range from studying the Italian language and culture, to letting go of my less-than-ideal habits in various areas, to learning and implementing new, healthy habits that are supportive and conducive to a better, healthier way of living.

If today’s quote speaks to you, will you take the time to do something every day that will move you into becoming the best version of who you’re meant to be? What is it that you truly see of yourself, and for yourself, in the future? Are you anywhere near it, or do you need to implement a little more grit into your daily grind?
