Day #43 in A Year of Positivity

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer

Hello and thank you for joining me on Day #44 in A Year of Positivity! I hope this beautiful day greets you with peace, warmth, and good health. Today’s quote is brought to you by Wayne Dyer, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Life can be complicated, and it can also be overwhelming, but whatever you do, don’t let that negatively affect your overall view on life itself. I know that when I’m feeling stuck in a rut, or when everything seems to be overwhelming me to the point where I feel like I’m having trouble staying afloat, the one sure thing that always grounds me and humbles me is changing my perspective on everything. What I’m about to type in the next couple of paragraphs may sound weird, but I promise it will connect everything together when it comes to what I’m saying.

I’m a very sensual person, and by that I mean I love to touch everything (that doesn’t bite or sting, lol). I love to interact with nature in any way that I can. I love to feel the cool blades of grass between my bare toes while a gentle breeze gives me a comforting hug. I love carrying and talking to praying mantises. I love watching bunnies graze on the clover in my backyard while having silly one-sided conversations with them and seeing their ears twitch at every sound. I love hearing all the different beautiful sounds of every kind of bird within my listening range.

I love feeling the textures of the plants and flowers, and smelling them while thinking of the bigger picture. All of it gets me thinking about life on earth and how it varies in so many glorious ways from plants to animals to humankind, along with how every ecosystem is connected to each other by some way. I love hearing the occasional hoot of an owl, along with crickets and grasshoppers chirping at night while I look at the sky and see nothing but the stars and the mind-blowing vastness of space. The starry night alone humbles me with its beauty and grace and wonder and awe.

I feel so connected to it all, and for me to be here, to be able to enjoy all of this astounds me. Life on earth, along with the cosmos beyond, never fail to remind me how blessed I am to be alive in all this, that I only have this one life in the flesh to see and hear and feel all this beauty and glory of creation. The problems in my life seem so insignificant when I look at the grand scheme of life and the existence of it. It changes my perspective, helps me to be grateful to be alive, and to have the things and the people I have in my life. It helps me to see what exactly is in front of me in a different light, and then I can figure out how to overcome the matters I need to deal with.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, and/or feeling stuck, then maybe try what I do and take in nature and its beautiful awe-inspiring scenery into yourself. Breathe it in and let it consume your heart and mind and soul. See how it transforms your view on everything. If you know of another way to look at things in a new light, that’s okay too, as long as it helps you along your journey in life. Changing the way you look at things will always change the things you look at. Keep in mind, this can be affected negatively or positively. If you take advantage of it in the positive way, though, it may just be the thing you need to help you along.
