“Don’t start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Every day is a fresh start. Each day is a new beginning. Every morning we wake up is the first day of our new life.” – Unknown
Ciao, folks, and welcome to Day #106 in A Year of Positivity! I hope the start of this week is treating you well and bringing peace and warmth to you. I’m not sure who authored this quote, but I think it’s a great one, “Don’t start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Every day is a fresh start. Each day is a new beginning. Every morning we wake up is the first day of our new life.”
This weekend, I encountered a scammer in the most unusual way. I’m not going to go into details but I will say I’m thankful to God for helping me discern the truth of the matter before I got sucked in too deep. For the record, no, I did not give out any information that would lead to having my money stolen from me or anything. It’s just a shame that in my search for something in my personal growth, someone tried to take advantage of me.
You know how the saying goes, “If something seems too good to be true, it usually is?” Well, it’s 100% accurate in my case here, and I don’t think I’d ever been so disappointed in my life because I thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. However, just because it came to me in the form of a scam at this point in my life doesn’t mean a more realistic once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will present itself to me sometime down the line. Life is full of wonder, and awe, and I cannot wait to see what it has in store.
I spent Saturday morning in high hopes for this supposed “opportunity,” but something just didn’t sit right with me. I slept on it, and then looked back at what happened the morning before, and saw all the inconsistencies that then raised red flags. Even my uncle came over to the house to help me and my grandma determine if the opportunity was legitimate or not, though it turned out to be that it wasn’t.
Because of the nature of the opportunity, I now feel spoiled in a sense, having opened my eyes up to something more that I really, really, REALLY want for my life, so much so, that someday, I will get that opportunity. If the door doesn’t open, I will create a new door with its own key. This is why I won’t let what transpired over the weekend bother me going forward. I know what I’m capable of, and I know I can achieve this dream. It’s not a matter of if, but when. Today’s a new beginning, the first day of my new life.
What about you? Are you in a similar situation, where the broken pieces of yesterday still leave a bad taste in your mouth? Perhaps it’s time to let go and focus on what beauty and peace and wonder this new day, and new beginning, has to offer.
