“We spend precious hours fearing the inevitable. It would be wise to use that time adoring our families, cherishing our friends and living our lives.” – Maya Angelou
Hello, hello! It’s a pleasure to see you here on Day #90 in A Year of Positivity! Today’s message will be just a little different. I have another Maya Angelou quote that I’d love to share, “We spend precious hours fearing the inevitable. It would be wise to use that time adoring our families, cherishing our friends and living our lives.”
The reason why I chose this quote for today is because today marks four years since I lost my mother. Her passing reminds me of my baby brother whom died of cancer twenty years prior to her death. He was terminal, so they knew it was coming, but it was a shock to me when I awoke the next morning. Both had passed some hours before the light of dawn, and never woke to see another day again.
It’s a stark reminder of just how short life really is. Above all else, we should be living in the moment, always ensuring the people we love know that we love them, and of course, it goes without saying that we should cherish them and the time we have with them because we never know when the memories we make will be our last. Tomorrow is not promised. It never has been, it never will be.
Be in the moment, make the most of its beauty,
and cherish your loved ones while never going to bed angry.
