“When you want different for yourself, you have to start moving different. Old keys don’t unlock new doors.”
– Unknown
Ciao, my darling readers, and it’s so good to see you here with me on Day #84 in A Year of Positivity! Today’s quote is brought to you from an unknown author, “When you want different for yourself, you have to start moving different. Old keys don’t unlock new doors.”
As always, it’s a versatile quote which can be applied in any area of our lives. There are times where change is inevitable, but then there are times where growth is optional. Sometimes we don’t like change because we’re comfortable with the way our lives are going, and sometimes we feel a dire need to change because we don’t like where we are. I’ve been on both ends of the spectrum and, right now, I’ve actually been going through some voluntary personal changes, because I haven’t been liking where I’m going in certain aspects of my life.
Wishing to make a change, and actually doing it, are two different things. In order to change something you don’t like about yourself, you have to get moving and be pro-active, and you have to make the effort. It’s not an easy thing, and it never will be, but it’s so much more worth it than you know. Don’t forget that there are also many countless resources that are now available at our fingertips through the internet, so don’t be afraid to gain some knowledge if you need it to make those desirable changes.
The more we change, the more we move, the more doors are opened to us. The keys of the old way of how we thought won’t apply to the new door locks. When we change things our lives, our way of thinking has to change as well, or we won’t be able to unlock the new doors before us. It sounds weird, I know, but it’s truth. I know that personally, I’m right smack in the middle of changing the way I think about certain things.
I’m reading more since I broke my left wrist, and learning what I can to improve wherever I can, so that I’m better equipped to face my future ahead. It’s been an enlightening journey, and I’m enjoying doing it quietly, and slowly applying some of the new things I’ve learned. New doors are being presented before me, but I can’t unlock all of them yet, though I will soon! I’ve been wanting different things for my life for some time, and now I’m beginning to move differently. It’s a slow process, but that’s okay, because I don’t want to rush in while making mistakes. I want to get it right the first time. I see clearly what I want for my future, and I’m ecstatic, so I’m completely open-minded and fully embracing change.
What about you? Are you experiencing a desire for change in your life? If so, how do you plan on moving differently? Are you still holding on to the old keys, or are you letting go of the things and ideals that may be making things stagnant? I know that sometimes something may seem good, but keep in mind, there may also be something better for you in store as well. You never know when a new door may be the next best door for you to walk through. Just remember that old keys won’t unlock the new doors.
