Day #26 in A Year of Positivity

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” – Oprah Winfrey

Hello, and thank you for checking out Day #26 in A Year of Positivity!

Today’s quote is brought to you by a well-known celebrity named Oprah Winfrey, “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” This is a pretty strong and powerful quote. Also, being thankful isn’t something that should only occur once a year on Thanksgiving.

Admittedly, I’ve been in the position of only focusing on what I didn’t have, and I can attest to the fact that the feeling that follows, the feeling of nothing ever being enough, is true enough. A few years ago, I did a personal Year of Thanks project where I posted on my private Facebook account and shared with my friends and family for each and every day what I was thankful for. It was meant for me to to find something in each day to be thankful for, no matter what that one thing or how small it was. It taught me to be more appreciative of life and the people around me, and the things that came for me in the future.

Oprah was spot on when she came up with this quote! Being thankful has an amazing ability to bring more positivity to the heart, soul, and mindset. I saw that firsthand when I did my Year of Thanks challenge. Don’t let negative thoughts, about the things you don’t have, occupy your mind space. Allow your mind to be filled with thoughts of the things and people you’re thankful to have in your life. Let it fill your heart. Let it wash over your soul. It’s a beautiful, positive thing.
