“They know your worth. They just hope you don’t.”
– Unknown
Hello and thank you for sticking with me to Day #24 in A Year of Positivity! A couple days ago, I saw a post shared by a good friend and former boss of mine from my time in San Diego, and I love the quote that she shared on her social media page. We talked about it for a bit and tried to figure out who the author of the quote is. There is a quote similar to this on the internet, but I like this one for today’s post better, though the author is unknown. However, if someone reading this knows who truly came up with this awesome quote, please let me know, so I can provide them proper credit.
As you see above the quote for today is, “They know your worth. They just hope you don’t.” I love this quote because it’s definitely another one that’s quite accurate. Whether or not we know it, there’s always someone who doesn’t want us to succeed in whatever goals or dreams we have. The reasons why typically come down to one of the following: they’re envious of what we have that they don’t have, or they just don’t like or have respect for us for one reason or another, or they’re not happy with the way things are going in their world that they feel the need to see everyone else suffer as they have. I’m sure there are more complexities involved here, but these are just a few I’ve personally seen firsthand.
Ignore these people. If you’re succeeding in whatever brings true joy to your heart, just keep shining on, and keep your eyes on the prize. Don’t listen to the others when they tell you that you can’t do it, or you’ll never make it. They know your worth, but they want to see you drown in your failures. This means they don’t want you to know your worth.
Ignore them, keep your head up, and stay true and positive to your values & worth!
