Day #78 in A Year of Positivity

“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.”
– William James

Good morning, everyone, and thank you for joining me on Day #78 in A Year of Positivity! Happy day to you and may it bring you warmth, peace, love, and joy! Today’s quote comes from William James, “As act if what you do makes a difference. It does.”

I love this quote because it brings forth a certain active way of thinking that will pave the way to success. I have previously mentioned on a couple other posts that the mind is an incredibly valuable tool, and how we grossly underestimate its amazing power. The brain is a beautiful, power-packed computer, and we’re the programmers of our brain.

What we feed our brain both literally and metaphorically will tell our brains tell our bodies and beliefs to do, be, and believe. Our brains are responsible for helping us live out our day-day lives, and they’re responsible for resolving problems. They’re responsible for thinking outside the box and being creative in various aspects of our lives. They’re responsible for sending instructions to our bodies to make sure our bodies do what they should be doing, breathing, eating, moving, sleeping, studying, readying, observing, etc.

I could go on and on, but what I love most about the brain is our thought processes. What we program it to think and do is nearly limitless. If you tell yourself over and over how you’re not worth anything, how nothing good ever happens to you, etc., your brain will literally find a way to ensure it compromises any good thing that comes your way. If you tell yourself over and over how beautiful you are and how you deserve all the good that life is ready to throw your way, your brain will operate in a way that will attract good things to come.

Only we can control our thoughts, so why not make the most of it, and think positive thoughts? Thinking positively has 7 major health benefits:

  1. Positive thinkers cope with stress faster and more effectively.
  2. It’s been scientifically proven that positive thinkers live longer and feel better than those who don’t.
  3. You have better relationships with people.
  4. Positive thinking lets you be more focused and concentrated.
  5. Positive thinkers tend to me much more confident.
  6. Positive thinkers are also way more successful in life.
  7. Overall, positive thinkers tend to live and lead happier lives.

So, if we think we can do what we need to be doing, then our brains will program this belief through our actions. Everything that we do matters, whether we realize it or not. Why not make the most of our impact through various positive ways? If we believe what we do truly matters, we’ll do what needs to be done.

Believe and act as if everything you do matters. Because it does.
Also, if you need a little boost in motivation, just know that I believe in you.

Believe in yourself, in your actions, and you’ve got this.
