Day #61 in A Year of Positivity

“Life is a process. We are a process. The universe is a process.” – Anne Wilson Schaef

Greetings, everyone, and welcome to Day #60 in A Year of Positivity! I hope this message finds you well and in good health. Today’s chosen quote is authored by Anne Wilson Schaef, “Life is a process. We are a process. The universe is a process.”

I like this quote a lot because it makes me think about everything in existence. Anything that’s alive and breathing has a process to being born, to living and learning, and there’s even a process to death. The way the stars are created, the way they expand and die, there’s a process to them. The way the universe has been created and expanded for as long as it has so far, it has a process.

In the physical sense, there’s a process in the way we eat and digest the things we consume, as well as pass the excess. There’s a process in the way our brains operate and send instructions to the rest of the body. There’s a process to the way we breathe, and laugh, and cry. Just to name a few.

There’s also a process in the way we think and handle things, situations, and people, as well as the plants and animals on this planet. There’s a process to learning from mistakes, and studying to improve ourselves. There’s process in every which direction, inside us, and all around us.

I know I have perfectionist tendencies, so it took me a long time to realize that it’s okay to improve the process of things, like myself and the things I do, but it’s also okay to accept that perfection is an impossibility in reality. It’s not easy letting go of that habit of perfectionism, but when I’ve been successful in letting it go in certain situations, it did my sanity a world of good and cut out so much stress.

If you struggle with achieving perfectionism, I want you to know that it’s absolutely okay to be imperfect. Nothing and nobody is perfect. While it’s okay to recognize flaws and mistakes wherever necessary, and find a process that works for you in improving yourself and everything around you, it’s also okay to accept the fact that you don’t need to be perfect. We are a process, and we will always be a process. We’re perfectly imperfect and imperfectly perfect.
