Day #53 in A Year of Positivity

Ciao, darlings, and welcome to Day #53 in A Year of Positivity! It’s my hope that this post finds you all well and in good health. Today’s quote comes from Alphonse Karr, “We can complain because rose bushes have thorns or rejoice because thorns have roses.”

Here we have another example of pessimism versus optimism and the way we can view everything in life. You see, we get to choose what attitudes we want to adopt, and we get to choose how we want to see things in life. Attitude is very important, because it’s what moves us in one way or another in life.

According to Indeed, “a positive attitude may enable you to reduce your stress level, cope with challenges in a healthy and productive way, achieve actionable goals and maintain overall mental and physical wellness. Therefore, it’s important to purposefully seek methods of maintaining a positive attitude throughout your interactions with others, time spent at work and in your personal or recreational time. While this can be a challenging task, especially in the face of life stressors, it can help foster noteworthy advantages in your daily life and lead to increased satisfaction in your career, relationships and more.”

Additionally, Huffpost (formerly Huffington Post) also had something to say for complaining when you view something in a negative perspective. “Complaining makes us complacent. It might make you feel better, but it’ll do so at the cost of doing something to change it.” Me, My Health, and I also says, “Having the right perspective on life helps us improve our outlook, have a more vibrant, upbeat approach to life and oil the wheels of our interactions with others. Everyone benefits when we have a good, open-minded perspective on life.”

As you can see, if we were to adopt positive attitudes and an optimistic perspective, we could be opening ourselves up to so many good things. So, I think I’ll keep my optimism and rejoice because thorns have roses. How about you?
