Day #51 in A Year of Positivity

“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill

Greetings, everyone, and welcome to Day #51 in A Year of Positivity! I hope this message finds you all well and in good health! Today’s quote is brought to you by the famous Winston Churchill, “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”

This is a pretty nifty quote because it talks about what it means to be a pessimist, and what it means to be an optimist. I, myself, have been known to be a half-glass full kind of girl for most of my life, though I will admit, I’ve had moments where I was a pessimist too. It’s really all about how you see things.

Pessimists tend to be stuck in a negative cycle of thoughts, and they tend to be discouraged by failures and mistakes. They’ll beat themselves up inside and they’ll have a difficulty in seeing opportunities to learn and grow. Optimism is the complete opposite. Those who are optimistic will see failures and mistakes as opportunities to learn and improve, and their thought processes tend to lean more toward the positive.

Sometimes people are taught pessimism early in their childhood, though sometimes they can learn the behavior later on as well. The beautiful thing about pessimism is that it doesn’t have to be a permanent behavior. Anyone can adopt the life view of optimism!

Some of the greatest dreams, and businesses, and precious moments in time are born from failure and mistakes. So, don’t see the difficulty in every opportunity. See the opportunity in every difficulty!
