“You have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of your life.” – Unknown
Hello and welcome back to A Year of Positivity! I’m excited to be continuing this again. However, because of a recent injury of my left wrist and having surgery to put in a titanium plate and screws to put my radius bone back in place for proper healing, I will limit my posts to a few paragraphs until I’m finished with recovery.
I don’t know who came up with this quote, but it’s a beautiful quote, “You have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of your life.” It speaks to me because I’m struggling through a tough time right now. I’ve been having trouble with getting a good night’s sleep (due to pain in my left wrist, and not finding a comfortable position long enough to find me some peaceful REM sleep), which has been making me super irritable and not in a social mood at all. I’ve also been struggling with getting the range of motion back into my wrist that’s necessary for many things, such as lifting a spoon or fork to my mouth or simply washing my hands (this one is absolutely torture, but I do it anyway).
But, I am in physical (occupational) therapy for at least six weeks, and I know without a doubt that things will get better soon. I know typing will get to a point of no longer feeling nightmarish, and the same can be said for washing my hands and doing other basic stuff. Eventually, I’ll be able to put some resistance into my left hand for strength training. I’ll also get back to my normal sleeping pattern.
So, it’s plain to see that I’m fighting through some bad days right now, and I will continue to do so until the better days arrive, because I have hope for the end results, and I can’t wait to get there! I believe everyone has their own good and bad days, which is why I’ve chosen this quote for today. If you’re going through some bad days, just hang in there and fight the good fight, because better days are coming!
