Hi there! I hope you and all your loved ones had a fabulous weekend! Are you ready for Day #5 in A Year of Positivity? I’ll just dive right in and say for today’s post, we’ll be talking about a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”
I feel this is a pretty important quote, because we should wake up every morning thinking it’ll be the best day of the year. Why do I say this? Because none of us know when our last day on earth will be. Today could be my last day, it could be yours, or it could be the last day of someone we love. There’s something special about the concept of living each day as if it would be our last. Keeping this idea in our minds, I believe, would help us make the best of each day.
Attitude plays a key role in how we handle the time management and outlook of our mornings, days, nights, weekdays, as well as weekends. Attitude is also how we handle our day-to-day interactions with our loved ones or people we come across in virtual, telephonic, or in-person customer service, as well as any other people we may cross paths with wherever we may be. Attitude is also vital to how we manage the things we do, and the goals and achievements we meet or choose to take on.
According to Hopkins Medicine, studies have shown a strong link between “positivity” and health. Additional studies have found that a positive attitude improves outcomes and life satisfaction across a spectrum of conditions — including but not limited to traumatic brain injuries, strokes and brain tumors. I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty good to me!
Live each day with no regrets, and if you find yourself feeling regret in one way or another, think about how you could fix those (if possible), and work to resolve them. If it isn’t something that can be fixed, then accept it as a learning opportunity to improve and do better for next time.
We’ll make thousands of mistakes in our lifetime, though mistakes are how we learn to improve the quality of our lives and our relationships. Although, if someone is hurt in the process, it’s important to take ownership of that mistake, apologize for making it and hurting the individual(s) affected, and mean what you say about working harder to be/do better.
We could also live each day as if it was our last by appreciating the little things, counting our blessings, and grabbing some once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Trust your instincts, but be kind, and respectful. Be bold and take some chances!
