Reading the Bible in A Year

Hello and welcome to Bible in a Year!

As you can tell by the title of this particular yearly challenge, this one is all about reading the Bible in 365 days (or 366 days when it’s a leap year). Unlike the other two annual challenges on this blog, there won’t be a daily post for this challenge. If there happens to be a particular day or week in which I am feeling open to sharing a bit of my mind, or whatever is on my heart, I will link the post directly to the affiliated day/week.

I’d started doing this last year with Grams while we were following along to Pastor Cary Schmidt’s videos, but after COVID hit, the YouTube videos just slipped our minds. Grams and I absolutely love Pastor Cary Schmidt of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Newington, CT. He has such a gentle, humble heart, and he’s comforting to listen to. He’s also well-versed in understanding the written Word of God, the Holy Bible. Some of the insights he has are absolutely mind-blowing and eye-opening.

Are you new to reading the Bible? Are you looking to better understand what you’ve been reading? For me, a fresh, brand-new perspective on the Old and New Testaments is just the ticket. Since Pastor Cary has finished uploading all his Bible in a Year videos, I can go back and simply start reading my Bible all over again, with some of his awesome new insights. I wanted to collectively link all the videos below, in case you’re also interested in doing this yearly challenge with me.

It will take a week or two for me to finalize sharing all the links here on this page, including some extra faith-related resources. For the time being, though, I will start with weeks 1 and 2 of the Bible in a Year challenge, so we’re not falling behind. I am really excited to be doing this, and I hope you’ll be doing this with me. If you are going to hop on this project with me this year, be sure to grab a Bible and have a handy-dandy notebook and pen ready for some notes and interesting tidbits. Happy reading!
