Day #351 in a Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for the invention of Exercise Snacks.
Exercise snacks, also known as Activity Snacks or Movement Snacks, are bite-sized “snacks” of 1-5 minute exercises that can be performed several times throughout the day with short and intense bursts of physical activity to combat a sedentary lifestyle. These exercise snacks help to maintain sugar levels while also improving energy levels, focus, and cardiovascular health. Jumping jacks, squats, planks, pushups, pull ups, steppers, and running in place are all frequently used as part of a “snackcersizing” routine. I love to incorporate regular jumping jacks, criss-cross jumping jacks (this is specifically moving the feet forwards and backwards in an alternating pattern) with some form of boxing move to keep the arms moving, along with my Fitly mini stepper, and more (I can’t forget to add a few quirky dance moves in my day to ensure I can make my Grams smile or laugh). Snackcersizing is a crafty, fun way to get in a workout throughout the day, it doesn’t feel so much of a drag to do an entire workout for an extended period of time, and it’s a great way to ensure you can fit in the exercise snacks even on the busiest of days. 💪🏻 😉🙌🏻
