Day #259 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for the 2019 movie adaptation of “The Pilgrim’s Progress” by John Bunyan.
Grams and I have been looking for something new and wholesome to watch, and when we tuned into Amazon Prime Video, we saw the 2019 film adaptation of John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress as a good suggestion. Grams really wanted to watch it, especially since it was nearly rated 5 stars. I used to own the 2008 version titled Pilgrim’s Progress: Journey to Heaven, which I loved, but I can’t remember when I last watched it. So, I streamed the 2019 version, and me and Grams even shed a few tears. It’s basically about the well-known journey of a Christian, the hardships they endure, and what it means to hold steadfast to the faith and personal relationship with Jesus.
If you haven’t seen either film, give them a watch. The 2019 version is cute with its cartoonish presentation of the story, and it’s included with Amazon Prime. If you prefer live action, the 2008 version is just as good, but you’ll have to pay for it via rental or purchase. Honestly, I highly encourage you to at least give one of these movies a try. They’re totally worth watching, especially if you open yourself up to the wisdom that tugs at your spirit and whispers in your heart.
