Day #249 in A Year of Positivity

“Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths, or the turning inwards in prayer for five short minutes.”—Etty Hillesum

We are quite the busy little worker bees in today’s head-spinning, fast-paced society, aren’t we? That’s okay, as long as we’re not forgetting that in between the busiest moments, we’re catching our breath. And in between our breaths, as well as in the midst of all the noise and distractions surrounding us in our everyday lives, there are countless opportunities for us to take in a simple, quiet moment of rest, or a mindful and/or spiritual pause, if you will. This is especially valuable in chaotic moments or times of intense stress and turmoil. Incorporating these mini pauses our beneficial for our overall well-being, and it reminds us to slow down a bit before we overload ourselves. Look for these moments with intention. Appreciate them for the peace and goodness they bring. They’re well worth it.
