Day #229 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful to have my maternal brothers, Mike, Jay, and Kristopher.
I was catching up again today with Mike via text message. It was a good chat, but then he said something that warmed my heart and brought tears to my eyes. He said, “I’m proud of you, sis. And thank you for being a good sister.” Of course, I told him how proud I am of how far he’s come in life, and he knows how much I appreciate him, too. It doesn’t matter that he lives in Maryland (and soon North Carolina), or that Jay lives in Florida, or that Kristopher is with Jesus on the other side of eternity. No matter how far apart we are, they will always be my brothers, and I love them dearly. I am so thankful I get to call them my sweet, sensitive, and protective brothers, and one day, we’ll all be together with Jesus when it’s our time to be called Home.
