Day #215 in A Year of Thanks

Day #215 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for listening to the Lord and trusting in Him.

Today was supposed to be a day trip to the Poconos with Grams. We’ve been wanting to visit Promised Land Lake and a couple of other local spots, and today seemed like a perfect day to go. We left the house at about 11 AM, but when we hit the highway, we ran into a major traffic jam because of a bad accident. After about forty-five minutes or so, and still only eight miles into the trip, we got off the highway and tried another route. We encountered another traffic jam, probably because everyone else was going in the same direction.

We then tried a third route, but we still encountered a lot of traffic. We were still only about ten miles into our trip, and another forty-five minutes of all the road chaos was tacked onto our trip. Grams and I weren’t feeling the vibe of traveling any further. We concluded the Lord was telling us, not today. So, we said to the Lord, “We hear You loud and clear,” thanked Him for His protection, and as soon as we both decided to go home, the next direction we took was completely free of traffic, and so was the rest of the trip home.

We stopped for lunch, though, and we had a delightful meal. Again, we thanked the Lord for what He’s done for us, and we took our time getting home. Maybe we’ll get to go to the Poconos next weekend, if the Lord says yes. He sure works in mysterious ways, and we fully trust in Him. Abba is so good all the time, and all the time, He is so good.
