Day #197 in A Year of Positivity

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”—Robert Louis Stevenson

For some reason, when I read this quote, I’m picturing the constant checking of the weight on the scale when on a weight loss journey, yet seeing little change day in and day out with the scale, despite counting calories, watching what we’re eating, and making sure we’re getting plenty of exercise. We know we’re losing fat as we do all these things, but we often easily forget that the investment we’re making in our body’s health is more than just about losing fat. It’s about strengthening the muscles of our limbs, core, heart, and other key areas of our bodies. Any investment we make in personal growth, physical appearance, or achieving our dreams takes time, and rarely does any of it happen overnight. It’s about the quality of the seeds we plant in ourselves and in our lives every day. When we focus on the daily investments, the quality of the harvest will blossom in its own natural, beautiful way. Is there any particular area of your life where you’ve been focusing on the harvest rather than the seed? If there is, then now is your chance to change things up, just as I will.
