“The best revenge is reaching a place where you no longer care about revenge.”—Unknown
This is a really great quote. I saw it pop up on social media, but it didn’t have a name attached to it. I’ve never really been the type of person who goes for revenge, but I have this weird thing about being the one with the last say in the matter before walking away from a person or a situation. I should say, I used to. Since returning to Jesus and my faith, I’ve had a lot of spiritual growth.
If it’s not worth sacrificing my peace and sanity, I’ll still walk away from a person or a situation. I could sit here and name every person on a really long list of people who’ve used me, taken advantage of me, and broken my heart and spirit in one way or another. But I won’t. Instead, I will forgive them, pray for the best for them, and move along. Why waste my time and energy on getting revenge (or having the last say), and be stressed about how so and so made me feel, when I can have peace through forgiveness and move forward with a more positive outlook?
