Day #76 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation.
There was a time when I would open the Book of Revelation, and I couldn’t understand anything it said, except that it was about the apocalypse. When I told my dad about this during one of our discussions about the future of mankind, he shared videos of his pastor’s sermon series on YouTube with me. I told him I’d watch it but never got around to it until after his passing. After Jesus knocked on the door of my heart at my dad’s funeral, I knew that I needed to go back through the chat thread with my dad and start watching those videos. They opened my eyes to so much, and so did the Bible when I actually sat down and read it from cover to cover.
If you have trouble understanding the Book of Revelation, read the Book of Daniel first. Then, you will have a much better understanding of what’s happening in the Book of Revelation. Go over to YouTube and listen to a sermon series about both books, and it’ll definitely help you gain clarity and insight. Ever since I’ve read Daniel and Revelation, I cannot look at the world the same way again. I can see how broken this world is, and I’ve read how everything will be resolved. Humanity’s mortal, broken story will end with the blessed hope of Jesus and what He has done for us on the cross, and it brings us the hope of His return for all those who are His. I pray all who read this will also be counted worthy as His and answer His call before He returns. It’s days like today that I can’t wait for the end of Revelation to come after the Great White Throne judgment because nothing in this world could ever compare to the glory, beauty, and harmony that will come with Jesus beside us on the other side of eternity.
