Day #29 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful to whoever came up with Methylprednisolone.
This one might be a little strange, but I truly am thankful for God instilling knowledge into whoever designed this particular steroid treatment because I cannot take regular Prednisone, as I am highly allergic to it. I was at my stove, cooking breakfast this morning, excited over the fact that today’s the last day of the treatment, and I couldn’t help but tear up because it’s been so incredibly helpful in calming down all my coughing spells and shortness of breath. Without that steroid treatment, I may have ended up in the hospital by the weekend’s end due to increasing disorientation from all the shortness of breath. I still have the occasional shortness of breath and coughing spell; however, thanks to all the relief I’ve gotten with Methylprednisolone, I can now manage it from here with my Albuterol inhaler and some extra intentional breathing exercises.
