Day #8 in A Year of Thanks

Day #8 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for a new opportunity to advance my Italian language and culture studies.

Those closest to me in my inner circle, as well as anyone who’s known me long enough, are well aware of my love and passion for the Italian language and culture. It’s also no secret to them that my deepest desire is to go to Italy and immerse myself 100% into the culture for at least a year, or even just to visit and have some fun with the locals while making plenty of new, meaningful, lifelong connections and beautiful moments. The Lord presented me with an incredible opportunity on Christmas Day, and I jumped on it. I’ll share more information about it later this year when all the details have been confirmed, as it’s an integral part of what the Lord has in store for me, based on everything He’s shown me thus far. For now, I am working daily on my preparations for Italy.

For those who understand the A1-C2 levels of language learning, I’m pretty confident in my Italian language skills at the A1-A2 levels. Earlier today, I was reminded of the beginner course I had taken online at Wellesley College a while back, so I checked to see if they still had their intermediate and advanced courses. Indeed, they do, and they looped it all into one cool package. However, I already completed the beginner’s course with them a while back, so they gave me a sweet discount, and I enrolled in the other two courses. What I love about these courses is the fact that they’re not only about the language, but they also incorporate information about the rich and diverse culture of Italy. I wish I could start the course today, but it starts on February 3rd. I can barely contain my excitement (perché non vedo l’ora!). While I am [im]patiently waiting for that day to arrive, I will continue working on my written, oral, reading, and listening skills daily through my other digital and print sources, as I always do.
