“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” – Henry Ford
Hello, darlings, and thank you for joining me on Day #50 in A Year of Positivity! I hope this message finds you well and in good health. Today’s quote comes from Henry Ford, “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.”
Let’s take a moment to think about airplanes. When you think about the dynamics of the beginning of an airplane’s flight, during take-off, the plane easily lifts from the ground once it’s reached a fast enough speed. This has to do with the resistance of the wind. It might sound counterproductive, but the resistance of the wind is what actually makes it easier for the plane to take off.
The same principle applies to many aspects of our lives. Life throws us in challenge after challenge, and we always find ourselves struggling in one way or another to overcome the resistance, the chaos. Oftentimes when we’ve overcome these challenges, we find ourselves achieving new heights.
So, the next time it seems like everything is moving against you, just remember that your airplane will always take off against the wind, not with it. You are the pilot of your life. Use the wind to your advantage in whatever way it works for you. It’ll make it a lot easier for you to achieve your new heights, so whatever you do, don’t give up just when everything seems to work against you. You never know what’s waiting for you when you reach those new heights, right?
