“You know what’s just as powerful as a good cup of coffee in the morning? Starting your day with some good, loving thoughts. It can change how your whole day unfolds.” – Karen Salmansohn
Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, everyone, and thank you for joining me on Day #46 in A Year of Positivity! I hope you’ve been enjoying all my daily positivity posts so far, and I hope this one, whose quote is by Karen Salmansohn, is of some valuable help to you as well, “You know what’s just as powerful as a good cup of coffee in the morning? Starting your day with some good, loving thoughts. It can change how your whole day unfolds.” I’m literally sipping on a delicious latte as I bring this message to you. This is a glorious morning in my little corner of the world, despite the fact that I have a plumber in my house who just gave a quote of $2,200 for a few specialty pipes that need replacing.
Now, if you understand where finances play a role in my family, you would see that I grew up in the lower middle class that’s borderline poor. $2,200 is a lot of money but we don’t have time to shop around for other companies after a few have turned us down because of the type of home we live in. Money is usually the number one stressor in this family. I’m also still out of work with no earned income coming in, except for what I’m making from my published books. Am I worried about this new bill right now, though? No. Why is that?
Because it’s a beautiful and glorious morning. Nothing is standing in the way I’m seeing things in this moment. I woke up, meditated for 12 minutes on a guided positive “I AM” affirmations YouTube video, and I smiled to myself in the mirror as I listened this video. Then I listened to the first book of John in a reading on my Bible Gateway smartphone app. Now I’m writing this and sipping on my coffee, being ever present in the fact that I’m alive and I am well. I am incredibly thankful to have another day, another 24 hours of breathing, another moment to do something right that I previously did wrong, another opportunity to stay true to who I am, another experience of joy in providing a random act of kindness for someone else.
All is well, my darling readers. All is well in my corner of the world and in my home. There is so much peace and beauty in starting your days early to give yourself some YOU time. Be kind to yourself because starting the day right starts with YOU and how you treat yourself. If it helps you, you could even try following my little morning routine I shared with you in the previous paragraph. Regardless of how you choose to structure your morning in a way that benefits your mind, heart, body, and soul in a splendid, harmonious, positive light of peace and joy, this will undoubtedly set the tone for how you move throughout your day.
